Stephen F. Austin's Birthday Celebration Saturday (11/01/2014)

The Texas State Cemetery will host the 221st Birthday Celebration/Memorial for Stephen F. Austin, Father of Texas, on Saturday November 1.  The event is sponsored by the Sons of the Republic of Texas, Moses Austin Chapter, Austin, Texas.

There will be re-enactors from the Texas Independence era, the Texas Rangers, and the Civil War era.  The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. and will conclude with rifle and cannon volleys. Note – cannon fire will be quite loud.
 
The ceremony is open to the public.
